Carpigiani
In 1944 the Carpigiani brothers, Bruto and Poerio Carlo, invented the world's first automatic ice cream machine ("Autogelatiera"). In 1946 they formed a Company to build on the success they had created.
From those beginnings Carpigiani has grown to become the leading Company in the traditional ice cream, commonly referred to as "Italian ice cream", market.
In 1969 the company moved from the centre of Bologna to a site along the Via Emilia in Anzola Emilia.
Carpigiani has now expanded all over the world, making acquisitions and creating new foundations in foreign countries, in order to spread the culture of Italian ice cream across the globe.
